Joint report on ethnic cleansing of Armenians in Artsakh by Azerbaijan

The “International and Comparative Law Center” (I. C. Law) and "Armenian Legal Center for Justice and Human Rights" (ALC) published a joint report on the topic of "Artsakh/Nagorno-Karabakh: A Case Study in Ethnic Cleansing".

“Analyzing in the report the racial discrimination against Armenians in Azerbaijan, the conditions of the blockade in Artsakh, the pre-was situation, the attack of Azerbaijan on September 19, 2023 and the forced deportation of Armenians from Artsakh, we document the policy of ethnic cleansing by Azerbaijan against Armenians,” states the head of the “International and Comparative Law Center”, Siranush Sahakyan, adding: “Our goal is to speak out about all this on international platforms, demanding measures to hold Azerbaijan accountable.”

The report states that the treatment of Armenians in Azerbaijan, the politically motivated detention of Artsakh political leaders, and the continuous glorification of anti-Armenian violence are the result of Azerbaijan’s disregard for international human rights standards.

The report emphasizes that the destruction of Armenian cultural heritage, the grave violations of human rights and the anti-Armenian institutional discrimination in Azerbaijan pose a continuing threat to Armenians and that international intervention is important to prevent future atrocities and restore the rights of Armenians.
