In 2010, a group of young lawyers who strongly believed in the rule of law and justice came together to create a special platform where they could use their knowledge and achievements to defend human rights and values. This led to the creation of the International and Comparative Law Center ("I.C.Law - Armenia").
"I.C.Law" operates apolitically, independently, fairly and transparently, covering the entire territory of the Republic of Armenia.
The vision and ideology of the organization is hidden in the name itself. When pronounced correctly, "I see law" is heard. These simple but eloquent words have gathered people who are ready to become strong supporters for people fighting alone against injustice.
Our vision is clear: a world where unity strengthens legal protection.
In order to achieve this tough goal, the organization carries out a wide range of activities, which include legal advice, case strategy development, scientific research and analysis, preparation of regular reports and special reports as well as the organization of academic and educational events, etc.
The organization is actively involved in mitigating the humanitarian consequences of war in Nagorno-Karabakh.
These efforts include:
•defending the rights of Armenian prisoners of war and civilian prisoners at the European Court of Human Rights;
•conducting fact-finding missions and investigations aimed at uncovering war crimes committed and those involved in them;
•submitting reports to UN treaty-based committees (including the UN Working Groups on Enforced Disappearance and Arbitrary Imprisonment) on the rights of prisoners of war, gross violations of the rights of ethnic and national Armenians, as well as individual cases of enforced disappearances of Armenian prisoners of war and civilian prisoners.
