Kolya Mkrtchyan studied in the Law Department of the Department of “Law, Political Science and International Relations” at Eurasia International University. He graduated from the University in 2025, receiving a qualification in Law. During his university years, he completed internships at the Probation Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, the 3rd Investigative Department of the Kentron and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts of Yerevan of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, the Prosecutor’s Office of the Kentron and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts of Yerevan of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Armenia, and the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
He has collaborated with NGOs ISHR, PRWB, and the “Protection of the Interests and Rights of the People of Artsakh.” He has participated in a number of non-formal educational programs and conferences.
From 2018 to 2020, he served in the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia.
