The Human Rights Defender Held a Meeting with Relatives of Missing Persons

Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan held a meeting with relatives of missing persons. The meeting, held on May 29, was also attended by Siranush Sahakyan, Director of the International and Comparative Law Center and Director of the Armenian office of the Armenian Center for Justice and Human Rights, as well as representatives of international organizations.

Issues related to the protection of the rights of missing persons and their relatives were discussed. The relatives of missing persons informed the participants that they had established the Pan-Armenian Association of Relatives of Missing Persons. Anahit Manasyan emphasized that this is an important step in addressing the rights of missing persons and their families.

The Human Rights Defender reaffirmed that the proper addressing of the concerns of relatives of missing persons and the effective protection of their rights are among the priorities of her activities. The Human Rights Defender emphasized that issues related to the rights of these individuals must remain constantly at the center of the state's attention, and that continuous steps should be taken to ensure the protection of their rights.
