Human rights defenders Siranush Sahakyan and Ruben Melikyan took over the protection of the interests of Judge Zaruhi Nakhshkaryan.
The Ministry of Justice appealed to the Supreme Judicial Council with another petition to subject Judge Zaruhi Nakhshkaryan to disciplinary responsibility.
The factual basis of the petition is the public speech of the Judge, in which she "expressed her positive attitude towards Judge Anna Pilosyan '' and according to the Minister of Justice, she publicly called into question the judiciary act of the Supreme Judicial Council regarding judge A. Pilosyan.
Let's remember that according to the decision of the Supreme Judicial Council of December 26, 2022, the powers of Judge A. Pilosyan were suspended for delaying the verdicts in four cases for a long time while working under overload conditions.
In 2021, Siranush Sahakyan and Ruben Melikyan represented the interests of judge Zaruhi Nakhshkaryan before the Supreme Judicial Council in three disciplinary proceedings with the mediation of the Ministry of Justice. Two of the petitions were rejected and one was granted, and the judge was severely reprimanded.
Update:
The Supreme Judicial Council satisfied the petition of the Minister of Justice Grigor Minasyan, terminating the powers of Judge Zaruhi Nakhshkaryan of the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan, on the basis of a significant disciplinary violation.
