The Human Rights Winter School has Started

The closing event of the first Human Rights Winter School program took place on March 1-2 in Tsaghkadzor. The speakers were Mr. Yeghisheh Kirakosyan, Representative for International Legal Issues of the Republic of Armenia, head of the Center for International and Comparative Law Ms. Siranush Sahakyan and Judge of the Constitutional Court Mr. Edgar Shatiryan.

During the two-day event, the students were represented to the topics of the mechanisms and developments in the implementation of human rights,the role, mechanisms, and effectiveness of the UN Human Rights Council, the impact of Constitutional Court rulings on the human rights protection system, including the individual constitutional complaint mechanism in Armenia, the European human rights system (European Court of Human Rights): judicial monitoring as a guarantee of the right to a fair trial.

The event concluded with a Q&A session on sectoral topics, followed by Ms. Anahit Manasyan awarding certificates to the students.

It should be noted that the Winter School program includes visits to various state institutions, meetings with high-ranking officials, and discussions with leading experts in the field.
